Holding out for Heroes

FOR someone with super powers, Peter Petrelli has made some really dumb decisions.

The hapless hero has blundered from one bad move to another, culminating in him trying to help the evil Adam, who was aiming to release a deadly virus in the season finale of Heroes (BBC2) last Thursday.

Fortunately, bad hair brother Nathan, cuddly policeman Matt and manic time traveller Hiro were on hand to foil the plan.

With Peter and Nathan reconciled, the heroes decided to go public in order to expose the company. Nathan drew the short straw in fronting the press conference, as he was felled by bullets in an attack sanctioned by his own mother Angela. What is the matter with that woman? She was also quite prepared for her younger son to be shot to protect the virus being stored by the Company.

Meanwhile, Sylar was busy trying to retrieve his lost powers, after tracking down Suresh and Molly with Maya in tow.

The black-eyed one almost disposed of the other three when she learned of her brother's death at the hands of Sylar, but was fortunately pulled back from the brink.

This saga needs Sylar more than any other character. The second series has been a hit and miss affair, never reaching the heights of the first.

In the taster for the third series, however, we learned that Sylar retrieves his powers. Whether Nathan will follow the trend of dead heroes being brought back to life by the cheerleader's blood, we will have to wait and see.

Surely the Flying Petrelli Brothers must live to fight another day?
