VOCALIST Joe Longthorne comes to Lymm next week – one of more than 150 shows he is due to perform worldwide this year.
The singer rocketed to fame in the 1980s and his appearance at Cafe Salar on Eagle Brow on Monday will be one of a number of dates across the UK as well as Spain and Australia.
The audience will hear music which spans his 40-year career and the intimate show featuring Joe and two grand pianos will be his last big UK outing for some time.
A former winner of talent show Search for a Star, he had his own primetime The Joe Longthorne Show from 1988 to 1991.
At the height of his success, however, he was struck down with lymphoma and then diagnosed with leukemia which he battled while continuing to work.
In 2006 Joe received a bone marrow transplant and in 2007 fought back to perform a sell show at the Palladium.
Last year he released The Impossible Dream – his first album in a decade.
Tickets are priced £18.50 to £22.50 and are available now from joelongthorne.com.
