KANE is a mercenary with a tragic life and Lynch is a dangerous schizophrenic on medication to suppress his psychotic tendencies.
Both men are on Death Row until they are busted out of a prison van in an elaborate break out.
The duo find themselves in front of the mysterious mob group The7 who claim they hold Kane's family hostage and will only release them safely if Kane retrieves a package which he allegedly stole from them.
You'd be forgiven for thinking this could be the storyline of the latest Hollywood thriller.
Because Kane and Lynch: Dead Men is an ambitious attempt to merge the experience of a movie and game into one package.
To a certain extent, developer IO Interactive has succeeded because the game is varied, immersive and fun.
Of course, this does come with some sacrifices though. Because Kane and Lynch has a clear cut story to follow, the game is less freeform than it could have been.
The gameplay is also tarnished playing a bit like the acclaimed Gears of War but with none of the panache.
Kane and Lynch is shockingly violent but for adult audiences, it's certainly an entertaining title.
