Macclesfield's PR firm wins top awards

FOUR companies from Cheshire have scooped seven different awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ 2008 North West PRide Awards, held at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel.

The PRide Awards are the only awards that showcase the best PR work being carried out across the UK and set standards of excellence for the industry. In front of more than 400 top PR professionals from across the region, IAS B2B Marketing from Macclesfield scooped three gold and one silver award.

Winning the best website, best use of photography and best corporate communications campaign, the team also finished runner up in the best business and trade category. Meanwhile, The Information Commissioner’s Office in Wilmslow took home the top honours for the Outstanding In-House Public Relations team and McCann Erickson Communications House struck gold for the best integrated communications campaign for its work on Don’t be a Cancer Chancer.

Macclesfield-based Context PR won a gold award in the best business & trade campaign category to round off a successful evening for Cheshire’s PR professionals.

Dave Sanders, chairman of the CIPR North West, says: “The PRide Awards never fail to deliver, year after year. With an almost 40 per cent increase in guests attending the ceremony this year, PR professionals across the North West all want to be in with a chance of winning these sought after awards. “A CIPR PRide Award is a hallmark of professionalism and success, marking the very best of the best in our profession.

The CIPR PRide Awards have grown in strength and stature, recognising public relations success and achievement in the nations and regions of the UK. Over 1,500 entries were received nationally and winner’s trophies were presented in 24 different categories.

The judging process is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners.
