LOCAL primary schools have once again topped the list in this year's Key Stage Two SATS exam league tables.

The exams tests Year 6 youngsters - 10 to 11 years olds - on the three core subjects, maths, English and science, and schools in Community News' distribution area were among the best.

The top three spots were taken by faith schools, but Bramhall's Queensgate Primary School was the highest ranking non-faith primary in the table; followed by Hursthead Juniors in fifth; Hazel Grove's St Peter's and St Simon in sixth and seventh respectively; Bramhall's Pownall Green, eigth; and Queens Road in Cheadle Hulme ninth.

The average pass for English in Stockport was 84 per cent, 81 per cent for maths, and 91 per cent for science. National average figures are 80%, 77%, 88%.

More to follow soon. See below for the full league table results, results going English, maths and science: St Joseph's Roman Catholic Junior School, Reddish, Stockport, Stockport 100% 100% 100% 293 290 300 101.90
