Lib Dems reclaim Broken Cross
The Liberal Democrats have held on to Broken Cross, despite a strong challenge from the Conservative Party.
Ainsley Arnold, John Goddard and John Narraway claimed a narrow victory with a 47 per cent majority of votes.
Conservatives David Freear, Penny Meakin and Anna-Marie Robinson took 38 per cent.
Symptomatic of a bad day nationwide for Labour, the Broken Cross candidates took only nine per cent of the votes.
Last remaining Macclesfield ward, Tytherington & Prestbury, is currently subject to a recount.
