Ian celebrates hole in one

A HOLE in one sealed success for the inaugural Beech Hall Parents' Association Golf Day, held last Friday (May 2) on the championship course at the Tytherington Golf & Country Club.

Ian Percival, business development manager at the school, made the perfect shot on the 13th tee using a six iron. As is customary, he treated fellow golfers to a drink at the 19th hole later that evening.

More than 50 parents, friends and staff of the school attended the event.

The winning team comprised Eamonn McGrath, chairman of governors, Richard Atkinson, Russell Gardner and Brian Purves, with a score of 82 points.

Royles Jaguar of Wilmslow and other local businesses and organisations sponsored holes around the course and forfeits were paid by those players unlucky enough to land themselves in the Beech Hall Bunker.

The day was rounded off with a dinner at the club where guests were entertained by Tim Healy, best known for his performances in the popular TV series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

The day raised £2,300 for the school's new performing arts centre and equipment for the nursery.
