Crime in brief...
LEE Warren Duffy, of Baven Close in Bramhall, has been charged with possessing indecent images of children.
Stockport magistrates heard Duffy, 36, is alleged to have had a variety of images of children in his possession, some classed as Level 5 - those deemed to show the worst types of abuse.
The case has been referred to Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court with a trial date of May 30.
NICOLA Jane Kirk, of Kyle Road, Hazel Grove, pleaded guilt to common asssault at Stockport Magistrates' Court.
Kirk, 35, admitted assaulting Susan McGillivray by beating. She had originally pleaded not guilty to the charge.
She was given a community punishment order for 12 months and ordered to pay her victim £100.
CHEADLE Hulme woman Catherine Clark pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining benefit totalling £4,619.33 at Stockport Magistrates' Court.
Clark, nee Williams at the time of the offence, aged 32, of Holly Bank Court, was prosecuted for failing to declare that she was living with her partner who was working, thereby obtaining benefits fraudulently.
The 32-year old was was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 costs.
DANNY Liam Bancroft, of Spring Gardens in Hazel Grove, pleaded guilty to several charges at Stockport Magistrates' Court.
The 20 year old admitted assault by battery, failing to answer bail, and two charges of shoplifting together worth around £15.
He will be sentenced on May 20.
JOHN Barry Dawson, of Hall Meadow in Cheadle Hulme, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence, Stockport magistrates heard.
The court head Dawson, 19, had harassed Kimberley Walsh in a manner he knew or should have known was innapropriate on the telhpne and via the Internet.
He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and given a restraining order that he must not contact his victim in any way, nor go within 100 metres of 27 Walnut Tree Road in Cheadle Heath, in force until July 7.
