A 13-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was involved in a collision in Stockport this afternoon.

Just after 4.00pm yesterday, Wednesday, December 3, police were called to Garners Lane in Adswood following reports of the incident.

On arrival they found the teenager with a head injury after being in collision with a car.

She has been taken to hospital where her condition is currently described as critical.

Garners Lane was closed while the scene was examined, causing extensive delays for motorists. Inquiries into what caused the collision are ongoing.
