Two women shop assistants were threatened at knifepoint during an armed robbery in Hale.

Police have revealed today that at around 5.45pm last Thursday 24 April, police were called to the Vanilla boutique on Victoria Road, Hale.

A man came into the shop armed with a knife, demanded cash from the till and also took a purse belonging to one of the victims, which contained cash, before running down Victoria Road towards Altrincham.

The offender is described as white, young and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark hood and had a scarf over his face.

Detective Constable Zoe MacNaughton, of GMP's Trafford division said: "The victims in this crime were badly distressed and I would encourage people in the community to come forward and speak to police so we can put this offender behind bars.

"I would appeal to anyone that may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the hours and minutes before the incident to contact police."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7652 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
