A RARE opportunity to listen to good music inside a well-known Macclesfield landmark, Christ Church, presents itself on Sunday May 18 at 7.30pm.

On that evening, the combined choirs of Macclesfield Male Voice Choir and Lon Dhoo Choir from the Isle of Man, together with soloist Rose Mitchell from Birmingham Conservatoire, will perform at the Bridge Street church to raise funds for the East Cheshire Hospice.

The church's refurbished organ will be played by celebrated organist Martin Potter. The church will be decked out in flowers by members of NAFAS and master of ceremonies for the evening will be Peter Wheeler.

Christ Church, which can seat 1,000 people, is owned by the Churches Conservation Trust. The famous preacher John Wesley delivered 12 sermons at the church during his lifetime.

Tickets cost £7, obtainable from the hospice fundraising office on 01625 433477, and all proceeds will go to the hospice. There is free parking and refreshments will be available.
