THE Queen will be visiting Buckinghamshire as part of her Golden Jubilee Year celebrations.
Buckingham Palace has announced that The Queen will be coming to the county on May 10, 2002.
The national celebration marks 50 years of The Queen's reign.
Lord Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire Sir Nigel Mobbs said: "I am delighted that Her Majesty plans to visit the county at an early stage in her Jubilee Year Programme.
"My office is working on proposals which will ensure that as many people as possible will enjoy an opportunity of seeing The Queen during her visit."
The celebrations include Bank Holidays on June 3 and 4 and the National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's on June 4. Buckinghamshire will be holding its own Service of Thanksgiving on May 26.
An official Golden Jubilee website has just been launched which will give members of the public information, and they can make suggestions and comments on any aspect of the celebrations. The website will include details of events.
