A BURGLAR who broke into nine homes in the Wilmslow area has been sent to prison.
Ian Todd was arrested in Bristol, at the wheel of a car he had stolen from the drive of one of the houses he burgled.
At Chester Crown Court on October 21, 44-year-old Todd, of no fixed address, was sent to prison for three years and four months for breaking into the house. Eight other burglary offences were taken into consideration.
Detective Constable Dave Edon, from the Cheshire Police eastern area burglary unit, said, “A prolific burglar will be off the streets for some time, which means fewer people will be victims of crime. That is good news. Burglary causes people a lot of distress.
“We and the courts take a serious view of this type of crime, and the sentence reflects that view. At the same time it takes into account the fact that, once arrested, Todd co-operated with the investigation and decided to clear up a number of other offences he had committed.”
