League Cup Final Poynton Girls 2 Hough End 0
Poynton looked edgy for the first few minutes but last week's experience soon settled them and they looked to be in charge as chance after chance came and went.
Hough End caused few problems at the other end as Ellie Barker, Jenny Bailey and Molly Gilmartin dealt with every attack comfortably.
Eventually the Poynton goal came as Leah Carr fired in from close range following good work on the left from Emma Massey. 1-0 to Poynton at half-time.
The second half brought the same pressure as Poynton looked to extend their lead. It took another 20 minutes before Ellie Barker fired a hard, low shot into the corner of the goal from 20 yards to give Poynton a 2-0 lead.
Hough End reacted by piling on the pressure but Poynton hung on to take the trophy.
Challenge Cup Final Poynton Girls U12s 1 Sale United Girls U12s 3 (aet)
Poynton battled hard in very hot and humid conditions and at half-time the game was evenly poised at 0-0. Sale United took the upper hand in the second half and a long ball forward gave them the opportunity to take the lead. The lead didn't last long as Poynton soon equalised with a goal from Molly Hetherington. This meant the girls had to face a further 15 minutes extra time in the searing heat. It was Sale who showed the greater determination as they scored twice in extra time. Man of the Match for Poynton was Emma Massey but all the girls deserve a great deal of praise for their hard work this season.
League Cup Final Poynton Girls U14s 0 Denton Town Girls U14s 1
A terrific game of football on a fantastic pitch as both teams proved why they have finished as league champions and runners-up this season. Poynton played a tight, controlled game that ensured chances were at a premium, although both sides could have scored in the first half. The second half started with Denton applying the pressure without creating a real chance. As the game wore on Poynton sat deeper and invited pressure - it was a fabulous 20-yard strike that won the game for Denton with 10 minutes remaining. Poynton kept pushing and could have scored twice in the dying minutes but the cup went Denton's way, although Poynton have proved they are a force again in girls' football. Man of the Match for Poynton went to Eva Pass and, as with the U12s, all the girls deserve credit for a superb season.
Challenge Cup Final Chaddy End Girls U16s 3 Poynton Girls U16s 0
Poynton looked up for this game and dominated the first 20 minutes but still went 0-2 down. However, they kept working hard and only exceptional goalkeeping from the Chaddy End keeper kept the ball from going in. The second half was also one way traffic with the occasional break thwarted by the goalkeeping of Misha in the Poynton goal. With only 10 mintues remaining Chaddy End did get a third as they broke following a Poynton corner and the ball was chipped into the Poynton goal.
Poynton U8s Red 1 Woodley Albion U8s A 11
Poynton looked out of their depth in the first half as Woodley ravaged them. But a strong fight-back in the second half brought a consolation goal from Matty Mullin. Nirvaan Takiar was named Man of the Match for his defending for Poynton.
Poynton U8s Blacks 3 Woodley Albion U8s B 0
Poynton reversed the result from the first game as they played some superb football with Charlie Rimmer scoring twice and Josh Hunt getting the other. Will Merryfield was named man of the match at the back for Poynton, and Joe Perry kept the team's first-ever clean sheet.
