A MAN has been arrested after a teenage boy was knocked over on Kingsway last month.
At about 4.40pm on Thursday, November 13, a 14-year-old boy was on his way home from school when a car mounted the kerb and ploughed into him.
The car drove off from the scene, along Broadway, without stopping.
Police said this morning a 39-year-old man from Congleton has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment to serious head and leg injuries and it is hoped he will make a full recovery.
Anyone with information is asked to call traffic police on 0161 856 6173, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
